When Archana and Manav marry for the second time,Savita feels betrayed by Archana-whom she thinks to be responsible for spoiling the fate of Deshmukh household.She falsely accuses her for the death of her younger son Sachin and also for the distancing relations with her only surviving son-Manav.Īfter Archana and Manav leave the Deshmukh household to live separately and Savita brings her only grandson Sachin,she starts showing signs and symptoms of depression and dementia.She even goes to the extent of forgetting her dear grandson in the market.She leaves him alone-unaware that she had brought him along her.The forgetfulness is later discovered to be a result of excessive stress. Her tiffs with her husband never end but she also genuinely loves him a lot which is prominent in the sequence where Damodar leaves for a trip on their wedding anniversary and soon after he is missing.Also,a bomb blast takes place in the train he was travelling in.But,luckily he is saved as he had not boarded it. She is a miser-always craving for money and luxuries.She thinks of herself as a great dancer too. Nevertheless,Savita is a softie at heart,very emotional and caring.She starts loving Archana after knowing her true nature. She even does not spare her son Manav's boss Dharmesh Jaipurwala when she sees injustice being done to her son. She is also very brave and says everything on the face.She does'nt hesitate in blasting at unknown people like auto rickshaw drivers,vegetable vendors etc. Savita is the quintessential chawl woman who fights with her neighbours for petty things like the queue for water,laundry etc.
